Boulton and Watt £50 Note
Effective from 2nd November 2011 the Bank of England issued a new-style £50 note into circulation. This is the first note that features not one but two historical figures on the reverse. It also incorporates a range of enhanced security features including a motion thread. |

Withdrawal of £20 note
As most of you know a new £20 note was released in March 2007. This note featured Adam Smith, the Scottish Economist, on the reverse. It has recently been announced that the Bank of England is withdrawing the older style £20 notes that show a portrait of Sir Edward Elgar on 30 June 2010. If you are not planning a trip back to England before this date it may be worth changing the notes in a local bank or Bureau de Change. |
