Spain’s Costa Blanca, “White Coast” was named by Greek traders over 2,000 years ago. 1,000 years ago it was invaded by the Moors who thought it to be a piece of paradise in the real world, hardly surprising with it’s 10 months of sunshine a year and plentiful harvests of olives, grapes, almonds, oranges and lemons. In the 1960’s the Costa Blanca realised that it could compete with the Costa Brava and Costa de Sol for a slice of the tourism market and Benidorm, once a quiet fishing town, was massively developed to accommodate 1,000s of holiday makers, now several million tourists fly or drive here every year. We have included a few places of interest on this website and intend to expand this section in due course. To see pictures and read a brief article about each place simply click on the place name: |
